Notes for League Finals
- All games, home and away will be decided by a coin toss at the plate at the start of all games.
- Each team is required to supply 1 game ball each.
- All umpire fees for playoff games are included in your GEMSA registration. No payment to umpires at the plate is required.
- Both teams are to text a photo of the completed game sheet to 780-938-6567 following their games. Ensure team names, division, and categories are visible. This needs to be sent within 15 minutes of the game completion.
- MVP Awards(U11-U19)/Player Bags(U9/U11Dev) - Please pick up your MVP awards prior to your teams first game. They will be located at Lede park at the Main tent located in the quad near the concession.
It is expected that at the end of each game - the coach of each team awards an MVP to a player of the opposing team. Coaches please talk prior to award - do not duplicate players throughout the weekend. - The Umpire shortage will continue for some playoff games.
- U9's and U11 Development will not have umpires.
- Teams are reminded that in the event a registered umpire is not available, each team is to provide one volunteer umpire.
- U11 - U19 Game rules clarifications. All GEMSA rules are in effect with the addition of the below,
- U11 - U19 Bracket games, no new inning after 1 hr 30 mins.
- U11 - U19 Medal Games, no new inning after 1 hr 45 mins.

U11 - U19 Rec - Max 5 Runs per inning
U13 - U15 Comp - Max 5 Runs per inning
U17/U19 Comp - Max 7 Runs per inning
- Home team is determined by coin toss.
- Softball Canada run ahead rule (FP 1.2.3) is in effect for all age categories: 15 runs after 3 innings, 10 runs after 4 innings, or 7 runs after 5 innings. Complete innings are played unless the home team scores the required number of runs while at bat. The run ahead rule is invoked when reached, regardless of any time limits.
- For round robin divisions, games can end in a tie. For bracket divisions, a winner must be determined.
- For bracket divisions, If teams are tied after the time limit, international tiebreaker rule will be in effect with the additional rules. Last available runner starts at 2nd base.
- If the game is still tied after 3 extra innings, the winner is decided by Coin toss.
- Umpires will keep the game moving, no delays will be tolerated. Umpires to declare the official start time to both teams and scorekeepers.
- Round Robin divisions will have the rankings determined after all games are completed. Rankings will be determined by:
- Total Points (2 - Win, 1 - Tie, 0 - Loss)
- Head to Head (two teams only)
- Lowest run differential in all games (max 7 runs differential per game will be used in calc)
- Fewest runs allowed in all games
- Most runs scored in all games
- Coin Toss
- U9 Game Rules Clarifications.
- Base paths are 45', pitching distance is 30'.
- Games will be 1hr long. 1hr15mins for medal games.
- Home team is determined by a coin toss.
- Coach pitch rules are in effect after the 4th player-pitched ball.
- The coach pitcher is to deliver the ball from the rubber. (Starting on the rubber, and one step towards home is permitted while delivering the pitch).
- No Stealing Bases or Home. Base advancement may continue on a hit - once the ball is brought back into the infield, runner advancement stops, advancement is not to occur on an overthrow.
- Example - ball is hit thru to left field, batter runs past 1st and makes it to 2nd, left field overthrows 3rd base, batter/runner must stop at 2nd
- For round robin games, games can end in a tie.
- For medal games, if teams are tied after the time limit, international tiebreaker rule will be in effect. The last available runner starts at 2nd base. If the game is still tied after the 3rd extra inning a coin toss will decide the winner.
- U11 Development Rules.
- Base paths are 45', pitching distance is 35'.
- Coach pitch rules are in effect after the 4th player-pitched ball.
- Stealing 2nd and 3rd base is allowed at all times once the ball has left the pitcher's hand.
- No Stealing of home on a passed ball or wild pitch.
- No Umpires will be supplied

- Games will be hosted at 5 ball parks.

Please see here for the list of games. Schedules will be finalized as soon as the last games are finished for regular season games.
These will be updated nightly after 10PM for the following days games. The main updates will be on RAMP under GAMES for each division
For games being hosted in Leduc this weekend,
There will be a concession and beer gardens will be open at Lede park Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday. Cash only Beer gardens (ATM located next to it), Debit, credit, cash for the concession stand.
Nisku and Calmar:
We will have food trucks available at both locations
Nisku: Chizcorner
Calmar: Power Play Cafe- Taco tent
There is limited parking in the main Parking lot at the Leduc rec centre. Please see attached map of Lede park and additional parking spaces.
